The technology integration video was very fascinating. The video showed amazing examples of how fast not only the written document, but many devices are all being simplified into two basic items. The cell phone and the computer are the future of sources. Magazines and Newspapers were shown in the video to be used online instead of the tangible paper way. It was also very unique to see that 7 million people had stopped reading printed papers, but that 30 million have begun using online news sites. That means it is likely that 23 million who were not reading may be reading now, even if stories are read online. I was also fascinated by the fact that 90% of American adults have a cell phone. I never would have guessed that. Technology may be getting more and more used and complex, but I could very well see it being used in the educational systems. Why Use Technology In The Classroom? Technology is important for students in various ways. Its usage can be beneficial to help students better understand concepts. The access to technology allows students to think outside the textbook and more into the world. Technology can allow students access to the practical usage in the outside world. It can also help students on a relatable level. Most students in modern society are extremely “tech-savvy” and feel more comfortable using technology. With the way technology is progressing, that comfort level will just increase with generations.. Right now it is of course difficult to lay out a plan saying specifically how I’d use technology, since I do not have a classroom, job, or education plan; I would say technology would be embraced in my teaching future. I could use media to make class more fun and interesting as well as easier to understand. Assignments can be easily accessed online and there are a plethora of choices though technology verses basic lecture in the classroom. Ultimately the goal of using technology would be to engage students and clarify and present the information in the best way possible.
